Chepelare has not exactly got a thriving tertiary tourism industry apart from the ski hill and most will find other activities on their door steps scarce.
However, as with shopping, nightlife and other opportunities on offer, most can be found in Pamporovo just up the road.
For those finding themselves going "stir crazy" after a few days in town, we suggest you head back down the mountain to Bulgaria's second city of Plovdiv which has more history and cultural attractions than you can wave a stick at!
We seriously recommend a trip to Plovdiv at any time of the year and the regular bus service will get you there in around an hour and for less than 10 leva return.
Between Pamporovo and Chepelare you have over 50km of pisted runs at your disposal.
However, there is a bit more to this area than just these two resorts so you may want to break away from your tour rep and go discover where the locals go!
