Goverdatsi is another ski station that is struggling with the term “resort”. The village itself is a typical Bulgarian mountain village. It’s about 15 minutes away from the small city of Samokov that lies below the slopes of Borovets.

In general, a great value place to spend a few days getting to grips as a beginner. Hardcore riders and skiers will want more after the first day so should maybe head off or back towards Borovets.

Having said that, you also have Malyovitsa and Panichishte to explore as ski stations too as well as having other other activities in the local area if you do not intend to spend your whole time on the hill whilst in Bulgaria.
