What else to do

Not a great deal in Malovitsa if we are honest!

Apart from the winter mountain sports (including ice climbing), those looking for cultural highlights of Bulgaria do have a few options in the local area. For example, the UNESCO Rila Monastery is worth a visit.

The spa town and ski station of Sapereva Banya is well worth a visit for both reasons and of course then there is Borovets just up the road if you want to fill up on over priced authentic (made in China) souvenirs of Bulgaria.

Another consideration would be to keep going down the Dupnitsa road and turning right back towards Pernik and then on to Sofia (about an hour away) which not only has the ski resort of Vitosha but also more tourist opportunities than you can shake a stick at!

Goverdartsi Mountain Gallery

Goverdartsi may only have one lift but we can say you will find it hard to get more "bang for your buck" when you compare this picturesque little ski station with any other!

See for yourself!

Bonkers!

Bonkers... Famous party spot under new onwership!

Bonkers Nightclub in Borovets is one of the most popular night-spots in the resort. This year, under new ownership, it looks set to dominate with wild parties and entertainment that you may not be used too!

Other ski resorts near Borovets

Want a little more than Borovets has?

Or maybe you are going to take our advice and just want to explore some of the smaller ski stations and resorts that our Bulgarian colleagues visit on a regular basis?

Either way, most tour operators will not tell their guests about other smaller (and much) cheaper ski stations nearby the "mother resort".

That's where we come in!
