Again, Pamporovo does not pretend to rival the super-resort of Bansko when it comes to retail therapy but there are plenty of opportunities to pick up the latest ski and snowboard equipment or a souvenir for the folks at home.

For those really intent on spending big money in resort, we suggest you head for Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second city which is hope to a number of international brands and new shopping malls.

And as with Borovets, if you fall in love with the latest Gucci ski suite in one of the small shops in Pamporovo, don't be too surprised if it turns out to be a "genuine fake" and the arms fall off as soon as you get it home!

You only paid 100Leva for it after all so who's worrying?!
