What else to do

In terms of the local area of the ski station and the town of Sapereva Banya that it feeds off, the most notable tourist attraction apart from the ski hill is the thermal mineral water that the two is built on.

This is the hottest in Bulgaria and has many medical properties as well as being a damn good soak after you get off the mountain!

You are also right on the door step to the Seven Rila Lakes as well as the UNESCO Rila Monastery so you have a fair bit to distract you if you don't fancy a trip to Borovets or even Sofia less than an hour away.

Nightlife is rather relaxed but there are one or two trendy bars in town that the local "cool kids" frequent but night clubs can only be found in Dupnitsa and Samokov or back in the capital, Sofia.

Malyovitsa Mountain Gallery

Malyovitsa is one of the smaller ski resorts in Bulgaria that the locals often would prefer to keep for themselves!

Cheap with plenty of terrain and close to Borovets makes this popular at weekends with Bulgarians and ideal for learners or those that don't like a crown mid week.

Goverdartsi Mountain Gallery

Goverdartsi may only have one lift but we can say you will find it hard to get more "bang for your buck" when you compare this picturesque little ski station with any other!

See for yourself!

Bonkers!

Bonkers... Famous party spot under new onwership!

Bonkers Nightclub in Borovets is one of the most popular night-spots in the resort. This year, under new ownership, it looks set to dominate with wild parties and entertainment that you may not be used too!

Other ski resorts near Borovets

Want a little more than Borovets has?

Or maybe you are going to take our advice and just want to explore some of the smaller ski stations and resorts that our Bulgarian colleagues visit on a regular basis?

Either way, most tour operators will not tell their guests about other smaller (and much) cheaper ski stations nearby the "mother resort".

That's where we come in!
