Semkovo is 1750m above sea level and does not appear on most large scale maps and is rarely talked about by advanced skiers and riders.
To get to this little ski station you must head for the town of Belitsa (through Razlog) and carry on up the rather poor road for another 17km until you see the sign/s for the ski station.
The ski station itself is set in a very pretty area which in the summer come alive with wildlife as the meadows explode with hundreds of different varieties of alpine flower.
During the winter the ski stations retains its beauty and is most popular with students and companies organizing "team building" events (read: Rakia drinking Olympics where your boss always wins Gold!). On the upside, this means that the station is cheap to ski or ride and the good value extends to accommodation and eating although those looking for a massive party may be disappointed.
