Having a European capital city on the doorstep of the mountain can really help when it comes to finding exactly the right accommodation to suite your needs.

Sofia has fast turned into a hub for business so there is no shortage of good quality low cost hotels in the city center which is the first place you should look as the options on the mountain itself are some what limited.

The closer you are to the center of Sofia would lead some to expect the more you pay for your stay. Not true!

Sofia has a good selection of hostels, guest houses and all the usual "five star" suspects you would expect from a major city so there really is something for everyone and every budget.
